The Grand Old Eastern Transvaal (10 Days)Trout farms and rolling grassy hills; mountain passes where highway men once terrorised travellers and Boer bombarded Brit; forests, waterfalls and historical gold diggings; sultry plains where rhino and elephant roam - this is the Eastern Transvaal of legend we set out to discover. From JNB airport we head for high - lying Dullstroom, overnighting at Dunkeld, a classic country manor (1nt.). We move on to explore Pilgrim's Rest - and try our hand at panning for gold! From our beautiful mountain resort Crystal Springs (3nts).we explore natural wonders such as God's Window, the Pinnacle, Bourkes Luck Potholes, and idyllic waterfalls. In the Blyde area we stay at lovely Swadini resort on the banks of the Blyde River (2nts). Go with your guide on walks in the resort area, relax at base camp, or join excursions to nearby animal and bird rehabilitation centres and the picturesque Dam. We now head for the Kruger Park for 3 days, staying at Satara and Berg en Dal and exiting the park for our final night at the Komati River Chalets, next to the riverine bush of the Crocodile River.
